No Pain Guarantee

We want you to feel comfortable and it is said that there are three causes of fear in dental patients:

  1. Fear of pain.
  2. Fear of the unknown.
  3. Fear of the fee.

The best way to control these apprehensions is to be open with us and share your concerns with us. We promise to listen and do everything within our power to help you. Each procedure will be explained before we begin so you know what to expect.

Advanced Technology

Better X-Rays – Advanced digital x-ray technology utilizes a small fraction of the radiation exposure of conventional x-rays. The instant images that you will see on the screen in front of you can be magnified or altered to reveal much more information about your teeth and bone structures. You will be able to take a virtual tour of your mouth with a special intra-oral (inside-the-mouth) camera. This technology will allow us to find cracks in teeth and leaks in fillings with tremendously increased accuracy.

Dental Lasers – Our dental laser allows us to alter the gum tissue when necessary with less bleeding and faster healing. It also allows us to sterilize the pockets (spaces in the gums) where bacteria live and contribute to gum disease.

CT Machine – Our CS 9300 system helps us diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. This machine utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation.

3D Scanner – This scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs while limiting your radiation exposure.

Why the Pineapple?

The first account of the pineapple was given by Christopher Columbus and his men, who landed on the island now known as Guadeloupe on their second voyage of discovery. Columbus brought the fruit back to Europe in 1493. Its cylindrical shape and rough, spiky surface caused the Spaniards to name it pina, after the pine cone, although the pineapple is much larger by comparison. The English noted the same resemblance, hence our word "pineapple".

For native islanders, the pineapple symbolized hospitality, and the Spaniards soon learned they were welcome if a pineapple was placed by the entrance to a village. This symbolism spread to Europe, then to Colonial North America, where it became the custom to carve the shape of a pineapple into the columns at the entrance of a plantation.

Seafaring captains used to place fresh pineapples - souvenirs of their lengthy travels to tropical ports - atop the porch railings of their homes when they returned. It was a symbol then that the man of the house was home - albeit briefly - and receiving visitors.

The pineapple has been a universal symbol of hospitality and welcome for many centuries all over the world. Dr. Steinke adopted the pineapple as the logo for his practice in 1983 to illustrate that everyone was welcome to his practice. Steinke and Caruso Dental Care carries that tradition on today - we look forward to welcoming you into our dental family!
